POLYCARBONATE SHEET INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. Prepare the Supporting Frame and Measure Dimensions

Ensure that the steel or aluminum frame is securely installed, with purlin spacing suitable for the thickness of the polycarbonate sheets.

Notes:

  • The frame surface must be flat and level.
  • Do not allow screw heads or sharp objects to come into direct contact with the sheet.

2. Cut the Polycarbonate Sheets to Size

Use a cutting machine or a fine-tooth saw to cut the sheets according to the required dimensions.

Notes:

  • Keep the protective film on the sheet during the cutting process.
  • Remove dust and debris thoroughly after cutting.

3. Drill Holes and Allow for Thermal Expansion

Drill holes 2–3 mm larger than the screw diameter to allow the sheet to expand and contract with temperature changes.

Notes:

  • Do not drill holes too close to the sheet edge.
  • The minimum distance from the sheet edge to the drilled hole should be 40 mm.

4. Install Profiles and Secure the Sheets

Place the sheets onto the supporting frame and secure them using aluminum profiles or specialized fixing systems together with waterproof rubber gaskets.

Notes:

  • Do not overtighten the screws.
  • Use EPDM rubber gaskets to prevent leakage and protect the sheets.

5. Final Inspection and Waterproofing

Remove the protective film after installation is completed. Inspect all joints and connections, and apply silicone sealant where necessary.

Important Installation Guidelines

✅ The UV-protected side of the sheet must face outward toward direct sunlight.

✅ The minimum recommended roof slope is 5–10%.

✅ Do not walk directly on the surface of the sheets.

✅ Use screws with waterproof rubber washers.

✅ Leave adequate thermal expansion gaps according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
